Colon
Approximately 90-95% of the water that is secreted into the alimentary canal gets reabsorbed back into the body. This reabsorption mainly occurs in the large intestine, where water is absorbed along with nutrients and electrolytes, helping to maintain the body's fluid balance.
Through the mouth
Water way, canal!
Almost all of the food you take in is absorbed in the small intestine. Most of the water you drink is absorbed in the large intestine.

The sponges are filter feeders, that means the surronding sea water circulate throught the canal system they have and the absorb the organic matter the water carries as their food.
The Gravel will absorb the water until it can absorb anymore.
By definition, a canal is used to connect two bodies of water. The water in the canal comes from those bodies of water.
Yes and no. The water has to be replenished at the highest point of the canal and the water flows down the canal but only during the operation of the canal's locks.
The material passing into the large intestine consists of water with undigested matter , largely cellulose and vegetable fibres ( roughage ) , mucus and dead cells from the lining of the alimentary canal .The large intestine secretes no enzymes but the bacteria in the colon digest part of the of the fibre to form fatty acids which the colon can absorb .Bile salts are also absorbed and returned to the liver by the blood circulation .The colon also absorbs much of the water from the undigested residues .About 7 litres of digestive juices are poured into the alimentary canal each day . If the water from these was not absorbed by the ileum and colon , the body awould soon be dehydrated .The semi-solid waste , the faeces or 'stool' , is passed into the rectum by peristalsis and is expelled at intervals through the anus . The act of expelling the faeces is called Egestion or Defecation .So simply , there is almost no digestion , mostly reabsorbtion of water and bile .
