James 2:24-26 tells us that "...a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone... As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead."(NIV)

Additional Comment:

James 2:18-19New International Version (NIV)

18 But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds."

Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder.

Even Satan and his demons believe in the God Family, yet they constantly commit evil acts or cause mankind to do so. So our works are the natural outcome of God's Holy Spirit within us - we are doing His work and not the work of any Law as Paul addressed in many letters. No work or no Law can save us. Only by God's Grace through faith of Jesus are we saved. Yet, God has a Plan and desires workman to help achieve its ends. These are His good works.
