Where is Alice Cullen originally from?

Alice Cullen was born in 1901 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Her family committed her to an asylum, because she saw premonitions - this is why she cannot remember anything of her human life, because she spent it 'in the dark'. She had a younger sister, Cynthia, and her daughter, Alice's neice, is still alive in Biloxi today.

She was turned into a vampire by one of the workers in the asylum, to save her from James (the vampire who tries to kill Bella). It is implied that the vampire who transformed Alice was in love with her - "You see, the vampire who was so stupidly fond of this little victim made the choice your Edward was to weak to make. When the old one knew i was after his little friend, he stole her from the asylum where he worked - i never will understand the obsession some vampires form with you humans - and as soon as he freed her he made her safe." - That is just me speculating, but the way James phrases it, it sounds to me like the older vampire was in love with Alice. However, James killed the old vampire, in vengence, so Alice never knew.
