On a 2002 Jeep Cherokee, the engine number is typically located on the engine block itself. You can find it on the driver's side, often near the front of the engine, usually stamped into the metal. It may be necessary to clean the area to clearly see the number, as it can be obscured by dirt or grease. Additionally, it’s a good idea to consult the owner’s manual for specific details regarding its location.
