You didn't say which engine, but, The 24L DOHC engine is located in the top coil pack cover It is a rectangle shape plugin next to the fuel lines. On an 2.2L OHV engine follow the plug wires. It will be underneeth the coil pack. Either way the coil packs are sitting on top of the ICM....
The 1992 Ford Ranger ICM is located on the firewall in the engine compartment. The ICM will be on the drivers side of the firewall.

I don't know excatly, But Iam pretty sure that Chevy put's the "Icm" in the distributor or on the coil pack. Your vehical however might not have a ignition module the "Power train control module"(pcm) in some vehical's control's spark timing.

I assume you mean the coil assembly/ICM cover. Remove the 4 bolts that are on the very top of the cover,unplug the ICM wire harness plug,lift strait up.You may have to wiggle it to unseat it from the spark plugs.

Remove distributor cap. remove rotor. remove icm shield. remove all wires from icm. remove two screws holding icm. pull icm strait out
The Ignition Control Module (ICM) is located directly above the coil. If you remove the 2 bolts holding the coil on and then romove the coil mounting plate from the car you will see a small rectangular module with wires plugged into it. This is the ICM.
