The three knights are named for Knights of the Round Table : Sir Cador, Sir Peleas, and Sir Gawain. Sir Cador figures in many Arthurian stories, as the Duke of Cornwall, either Arthur's half-brother or his cousin.

Once you beat the Fire Planet, Sir Peleas goes on your ship with you. If you haven't beaten the planet, he is still down by the dragon chamber. You will need all three knights with you to complete the island.

How do find the three knights on Astro Knights Island?
There is one on each planet. On the Jungle planet, there is Sir Cador. On the Ice planet, there is Sir Gawain. On the Fire Planet, there is Sir Peleas. Sir Gawain and Sir Peleas each give you a Mystical Weapon. You will have to find the Laser lance on the Jungle planet. When you defeat a planet, the knight will join you on your spaceship. When you have all three, go to the crystal gate on the Giant Asteroid (X-11 Y-80), and go to the top. Pull the key out, and you will open a portal to another dimension!

You have to jump across the lava geysers, slip past the hot volcanic gusts, jump over the Lava Snake, and find Sir Peleas, who will give you the Ice Arrow. (see related question)

Fly to each of the three planets on the list the Queen gave you. You will use the Mystical Weapons and meet the three space knights (Sir Cador, Sir Gawain, and Sir Peleas). Once you beat the three planets, and have all three knights with you, you can travel to the secret giant asteroid (X-11 Y-82) and pull out the Golden Key that leads to the Princess.
