the 4t60-e transmission uses a shift modulator that can be found at most auto part stores. however i believe the '99 regals use the 4t65-e transmission which are not vacuum operated therefor to up the shift pressure you will need a tuner or a shift kit.
Begin by removing the wiring harness from your shift solenoid. Remove the shift solenoid retaining screws. The shift solenoid will come out. Reverse the process to install your new shift solenoid.
The shift solenoid on a 2005 Buick Rainier is located inside the transmission. To access it, you typically need to remove the transmission pan and filter. The solenoid is part of the valve body assembly, so you may need to remove additional components for complete access. Always refer to a repair manual for specific instructions and safety precautions when working on the transmission.
Buick Regals don't have timing belts. They have a timing chain.
