Daisy made a model 94 Carbine from 1954 - 1962, they also made a model 111 western carbine from 1963-1978. I can find no information on a Red Ryder 1938 carbine. However the 1938 Red Ryder is still in production.

In fact there were many versions of the same model. there are 11 versions of the Red Ryder itself. The best way to tell an original 1938 Red Ryder is look for these items wood stock, logo on left side. Narrow bands. Saddle ring does not go all the way through the side of the receiver. Blue paint finish. Screws are slotted. This first one was made between 1972 and 78. A daisy BB rifle actually made in 1938 would be a Number.101 model 36 or a Number. 102 model 36 made between 1936 and 42. Another was to tell the older Daisy's is the lever action is aluminum not plastic. an original Red Ryder ( First version ) in fair to good condition is worth around $75. A current Red Ryder in Good condition is worth around $25.
