A Molex power connector is a 4-pin power connector found in most computer power supplies. It is used to provide power to large internal drives like hard drives and CD/DVD drives. They are slowly being replaced by SATA power connectors, which are easier to install can cannot be inserted incorrectly.
They should not be confused with a Berg connector which is much smaller and is used to power floppy drives.
The molex connector is used for IDE drives
The Molex connector has 4 wires. 1 yellow, 1 red, 2 black.
The color of the cable tells you the voltage:
Black = Ground
Yellow = +12v
Red = +5v
These colors are typically universal for all computer power supplies and components.
A Molex connector is used inside a PC computer. It is used to connect the motherboard to the powersupply and are sometimes have as many as 20 or 24 connections.
A Molex Connector connects to optical drives and hard drives.
Molex was created in 1938.
No I don't believe there is another word for molex!
The ticker symbol for Molex is MOLX and it is traded on the Nasdaq.
There's different types of connections that lead to a hard disk. you'll have to ellaborate your question.But..... I can tell you what the wires are....There's the ribbon cable. (flat and wide cable that connects to the back of your drive to the motherboard)The Molex plug (white and it has four pins) that powers your hard disks, it leads to the power supply.OR... The SATA power connector (which is black, has 5 wires (red, yellow, 2 black, and one orange) which connect to the back of your hard diskThere's also the SATA data transfer cable, it's a thin (usually red) cable that connects to the motherboard to your hard drive. (it's a thin "L" shaped slot)
This is an old Beau terminal block part number. After buying Beau, Molex eventually dropped the original part numbers in favor of Molex part numbers.
The berg has 4 pins And is a male part..the MOlex has 4 pins and is a female part..
Molex Connectors are used in Power Supplies for powering up the devices. There are different types of Molex Connectors on Power Supply for. eg. 20 or 24 Pin Power Connector\ 4 Pin IDE device \ Sata Device Connector.Mini Molex refers to connector powering Floppy Disk Drives or AGP Cards on Computer System.

Molex and floppy drive power connectors have 4 pins. Also PCI-E and CPU power connectors have 4-8 pins.
