Most of the time is is cheaper to replace with a used model than pay a minimum repair cost. The cost to repair can not be known without knowing what needs to be repaired and the estimate may have a cost even without the repair being completed or economical
For the PS2 it will be more economical to replace than repair if it can not be done yourself. Used PS2 are plentiful and many whole systems are available
These things are more cost efficient to replace than pay for the repair

Yes or you can send it to Playstation and get it fixed and if they can not they recycle and send you a replacement
You need an online connection and a PS3 for the Playstation Network
If your PlayStation makes a grinding noise, it's best if you give it up for lost and purchase a new one.
