Open the barrels and look on the flat part of the watertable (the flat part of the frame where the barrels close up) or the bottom of the barrels for the serial number
I have a baker shotgun serial number is 6045. Can anyone tell me the age
I HAVE A GUN PAST DOWN FROM MY DAD .IT IS A NEW BAKER DOUBLE SHOT GUN.I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT ITS HISTORY IF POSSIBLE.SERIAL NUMBER IS 22804
Probably turn of the century.
If the shotgun is a hammerless double, it is a Baker Model produced in 1899 (per Dixie Gun Works, Ithaca Serialization Guide) That serial should be a 1926 production NID. sales@countrygunsmith.net
If this is an old side by side it would be a Baker model made in 1886. Serial numbers of Ithaca shotguns for that year were 2448 - 4101.
I have a shotgun made by Baker Gun company it is sixteen (16) gauge , Model Batavia Leader, Serial Number 16812F and made in Norwich, Connecticut. I would like to know the history of this gun, (date it was made, value, etc.). I would also like to know where to purchase a stock for it. Any help would be appreciated SaltedHog
Your serial number and description indicates that you have a Ithaca Baker model shotgun, which was made in either 1885,or 1886.The value cannot be determined unless you provide a more detailed description of the shotguns overall condition,to include the amount of original finish remaining on the wood and metal, the bores overall condition(any pitting,or rust) barrel length, etc.
It sounds to me like you have a Early made Ithaca Baker model double barrel shotgun made in 1889-1890.As to value I would have someone with the knowledge to evaluate you gun and then he could assign a value for you.
unknown.
There were BATAVIA SPECIAL shotguns, BATAVIA LEADER, etc, made with both steel and damascus barrels. Condition is key, but $300-$400 is realistic. The serial number is 93269.It was bought in 1960.Batavia NY is stamped on it.
The Imperial was manufactured by Baker Gun and Forging Company, 1896-1919. (You'll have to hold it a little closer to the screen so I can see what gauge it is.)
You have an Ithaca Baker model made in 1886 if it is a sxs double not stated in your ques
