air pressure over the ocean is higher than air pressure over the land!
The deeper the water, the higher the pressure. This is due to how much weight is on the water. At the top of the ocean, the only thing above the water pushing down on it is air. However, at the bottom of the ocean you have not only the air but the entire body of water above it pushing down. This creates a greater pressure at lower depths.
Early in the day, the land is quite cold as it has lost its heat overnight. Therefore it is more dense and has a greater air pressure. However, as the day progresses, the air above the land will be very hot, less dense, and hence have a lower pressure. As a result, the air above the ocean has a greater air pressure later in the day.
there is higher pressure the deeper you travel into the ocean. this pressure is detrimental to health. also breathing is an issue.

It is the weight of the water pressing down from above. The greater the depth the greater the pressure.
Think of the air pressure on any horizontal surface as the weight of all the air above it, all the way to the top of the atmosphere. As you increase altitude (go higher, on a mountain or in an airplane), there is steadily less atmosphere above you, and the air pressure steadily decreases with altitude.

no the ocean is much higher than a river. common sense. I think a river is above sea level cause they run in to the sea or ocean not the other way.
