inside the exhaust and by dissasembling and swapping it out
These sensors are available on EBay for ~$70
Wher are the oxygen sensors located on a 2001 rx300 Lexus SUV
The ls400 has 4 oxygen sensors the 2 main oxygen sensors are before the catalytic converters in the LH and RH exaust manifolds the 2 sub oxygen sensors are after the catalytic converters located in the exaust pipe under the car www.lextechautomotive

All oxygen sensors are in the exhaust. They can either be before or after the catalytic convertor. Just because you have a code for an oxygen sensor does Not mean that it is defective. You can have a vacuum leak causing a lean code. You can also have a leaky injector that will cause a rich code.
First you need to find a 1991 Lexus IS300...

I have a Lexus 96 es300. There are three oxygen sensors on this car. All the sensors are on the exhaust pipe. The first oxygen sensor which is in front of the engine when you open the hood called (bank # 2). The second sensor locates between the back side of the engine and the wall called ( bank # 1). It is very hard to replace if you have a big hand b/c there is not enoght room . The third sensor locates near the catalic convert. You only can see it if you are under the car. Most of the oxygen sensor go bad is the ones between the wall and the back side of the engine (Bank #1). Do not confuse! Bank # 2 locates next to the FAN/RADIATOR. When you check the oxygen sensor, make sure which bank - bank ?I have a Lexus 96 es300. There are three oxygen sensors on this car. All the sensors locate on the exhaust pipe. the oxygen sensor(s) on any car is gonna be screwed in the exhaust. the primary sensors are screwed in the exhaust manifolds. the secondary sensors are going to be screwed right before, in, or right after the catalytic converters. if your getting a check engine light, find out what code is in the computer and the definition. b1s1 means bank 1, sensor 1. bank1(or2) means which exhaust side, and sensor1(or 2) is the location of the sensor on that side. the side that has the number 1 spark plug is going to be bank 1.
Passenger side exhaust
The solar sensor is located on the drivers side of the dashboard close to the windshield. There are two sensors there (2 small round sensors)...while sitting in the driver's seat, the leftmost sensor is the headlight sensor (turns lights on/off automatically), the solar sensor is to the right of the headlight sensor. To replace the sensor, you use a screw driver to pry it out (be careful not to scratch the dash). Remove the old sensor, install a new one and put it back in its place in the dash.
