If you are talking about the O-Ring that comes in a head gasket set its probably for the distributor if the vehicle has one and and usually goes on the shaft housing just under where it seats on the intake manifold. These are about 1" to 1.5" diameter.
It depends on the diameters of the shaft and the O-ring. Whether or not it rotates, or slides, how many O-rings or seals are on the shaft, and the thickness of the cylinder head. Consult the manufacturer of the cylinder for the proper clearances required.
an o ring is a rubber ring that is put around the valve co2 cylinder tank to secure the gas when it is inserted
There are o-ring seals at every line connection.
which O ring? there are quite a few in the 98 monte.
# Remove necessary air filter tubing at throttle body. # Prior to removing ignition coil, spray compressed air around coil base at cylinder head. # Prior to removing spark plug, spray compressed air into cylinder head opening. This will help prevent foreign material from entering combustion chamber. # Remove spark plug from cylinder head using a quality socket with a rubber or foam insert. Also check condition of ignition coil o-ring and replace as necessary. # Inspect spark plug condition.. # Start the spark plug into the cylinder head by hand to avoid cross threading. # Tighten spark plugs.. # Before installing ignition coil(s), check condition of coil o-ring and replace as necessary. To aid in coil installation, apply silicone to coil o-ring. # Install ignition coil
MLS head gaskets or o-ring the block/head
follow the large hose starting from the bottom of the drivers side of the radiator. That hose is attached to a 7" pipe that is bolted to the front cylinder head and is fit with an "o" ring into the thermostat housing. the thermostat is inside that housing. its held in place with three 10mm nuts.
Location is behind the starter, droping the starter makes the job easy.unplug the sensor then pry it out, best with pliers o ring then reinstall.
It is located in the center of the engine compartment. It should have a 36mm socket head on it with a wider body to the whole cap. It is not a traditional oil filter. It is a cartridge with an O-ring located from top of engine.
The PCV valve is located under the hood of the car, near the intake manifold of the vehicle. It will be behind the 3 prong plastic fitting and "O" ring of the intake hose.Ê
on a 2.3l motor all data states it should take .8 hours, it is located on the front of the motor in the thermostat housing that connects the upper radiator hose to the cylinder head of the motor...on the 3.0l and 4.0l both are rated for 1.0 hours and still are both located in the front of the cylinder head behind the housing that connects the upper hose from the radiator to the block...remember the poppet side (side with the spring) goes inside toward the motor and ALWAYS install a new o ring or gasket if it is called for...good luck
Each joint or connection has an o-ring.
