99% of the time, the blower motor relay, or resistor block, will be bad if the fan motor only works on high speed.
It would be in the relay box under the hood near the battery.
To check the fan relays on the 99 Malibu, you can swap the relay between the AC blower and the fan.
happened to me in my 97. replaced the blower relay. in the relay box on left side under hood. costs 7.00 or so
No, the blower motor speed resistor is burned out.
1. The only blower relay on the 99 Tahoe is the A/C relay in the 'control panel" under the hood, next to the ECM or PCM (computer) Take the rectangular cover off by squeezing the clips on the ends and lifting. Looking across the hood from the drivers side fender, on the far side (across the end) of the box are three "square" looking plugged in boxes. The laft one is the Fuel pump relay, the middle is the A/C relay, and the right (I believe) is auxilliary relay. You can pull the relay and check for voltage at the prong points (you'd need a wiring diagram to tell which is hot, ground, etc) or you could "guess-timate" and replace the relay. (A parts store or dealer may be able to check the relays for you.) 2. My next question would be if you've checked out both the blower and the blower switch under the console? If your blower fan isn't working, it could be one of those. (The 99 Tahoe is famous for blowing the fan switch - I went to a dealer one day, expecting to have to order one - only to find he had "34" in stock! Good luck!
Try replacing the A/C Blower relay
on the blower houseing beside the blower motor
Check the following................ 1. Power and ground to the blower motor. 2. Blower resister. 3. Blower switch.
Its acually blower motor and it is located under the passenger dash. real easy to get to and the blower motor relay is in the same area. Might want to check that first because that's what usually goes. Thanks, hope this helps
