Up front RHS near the water reservoir. Looks round and black.
Remove the spare tire. The canister is located near the rear end of the truck (it is connected to a large black plastic box located on top of the rear cross member (directly underneath the floor of the bed of the truck).
Valve to piston, no. The interference is valve to valve.
0441 Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow This has to do with the purging of the canister, which stores excess fuel vapors that will later be burned in the engine. During the "purge" cycle, engine vacuum draws the fumes from the canister into the intake manifold. The purge and vent valves are also cycled to run diagnostic tests on the fuel tank and evaporative system integrity. Therefore "incorrect purge flow" could be caused by a malfunctioning purge or vent valve, damaged or kinked tubing, or even a loose gas cap. Always make your gas cap click when you tighten it.
If it is the valve on top of the fuel tank, it weel need to be replaced.
It is inside the transmission, on the top of the valve body.It is inside the transmission, on the top of the valve body.
Code PO499 = Evaporative Emission System vent control circuit high. Problem can be a loose or defective gas cap, blocked gas vent, EVAP/Carbon canister purge valve fault, or loose, cracked, or broken vacuum hose.
On top of the engine. Look for a plastic tube with the small green service cap then follow that line back to the engine. That line is connected to the purge valve. You will have to remove the black plastic engine cover to expose it.
Small EVAP leaks can be hard to find. Most shops will perform a smoke test to pinpoint the source of a small leak. Leaks can be found anywhere from the purge valve on the engine all the way back to the gas cap including the vent valve, charcoal canister, steel lines, filler neck, rotted fuel tank, etc.
The 2004 Toyota Land-Cruiser has a V8 engine.
The 2004 Toyota Land-Cruiser has 32 valves.
Trouble code P1446 means: EVAP Canister Vent Valve Malfunction (Closed)
