Behind the harmonic balancer.
Behind the crank pulley that your belt rides on!
The sensor is on the front cover near the water pump area.
show a diagram of a buick park avenue crankshaft sensor
where is the crankshaft position sensor located on 1998 park ave
The crankshaft position sensor is mounted on the front of the engine. It bolts on, and has one wiring plug.
The same place on any motor, the crankshaft is in the bottom of the engine. It is what the bottom large pulley is attached to and runs back to the transmission.
It's just behind the harmonic balancer.
on the left side of intake manifold under MAP sensor.
IS CALL CAMSHAFT SENSOR AND IS LOCATED ON THE RIGTH SIDE OF THE ENGINE , ABOVE THE CRANK PULLEY You will have a crank sensor, but it won't have a cam sensor. it dose have a cam sensor, on the timing cover left sind of water pump
about 1/3 of the way down on the passenger side of the radiator.
I had mine fail on a 92 Park Avenue. Only a Buick dealer had the tools to replace it. A special pulley puller is needed to do that on mine. It cost about $300 if I remember correctly.
This may be a crankshaft sensor. It will be intermediate and will not show a code. It may also be the the Engine Control Module and/or the Mass Air Flow Sensor. I speak from experience.
