There is no dipstick for the trans.
I heard someone comment that it has a "sealed" transmission, therefore, a dealer has to add fluid. I own a 2002 Isuzu axiom. they don't have a dipstick but they do have a holding tank on the right side you check and add fluid there.
there is none, it uses the same one in front
how do you find out how to check the transmition in a isuzu rodeo
You don't, it's a sealed system and you must rely on the warning light I just had to replace my tranny that isn't correct. you check it from the bottom by starting it on a lift, and topping it off through the fill plug, which is located near the drain plug but higher up. This transmission is also used in GM cars , trooper and rodeo.

I have a 1994 Isuzu Trooper and it has issues upshifting at lower speeds. How do I check the fluid level in the transmission when there is no dipstick?
check your tranny fluid first
if it is an automatic then yes, if it is a standard transmission then no
On the 2002 Rodeo the transmission is sealed and is non servicable by the owner. You cannot even check the fluid level so I advise taking it to an Isuzu repair shop.
The way to check the transmission fluid level is you run the vehicle in park until operating temp. When operating temperature is reached then there is a plug in the transmission pan pull out just the middle of it to check fluid.
These transmissions do not have a dipstick, the fluid level is checked by removing a fill plug on the case, similar to a manual transmission.
In my 93 Isuzu Rodeo you have to add your transmission fluid buy poring it into the the transmission fluid dipstick.
