THERE IS A SCREEN TYPE IN THE TANK THAT IS PART OF THE PUMP AND THE INLINE FILTER IS ON THE INSIDE OF THE LEFT FRONT FENDER UNDER THE AIR BOX. NOTE: TOYOTA FUEL FILTERS ARE LIFETIME. (NO NEED TO CHANGE)
The fuel filter is an integral component of the fuel pump assembly located in the fuel tank. A recent post on the Toyota Nation forum says that the fuel filter can be purchased separately. The fuel pump is reached by removing the rear seat cushion and removing an access plate that holds the fuel pump assembly. My maintenance schedule does not say anything about replacing the fuel filter. A Toyota tech member of Toyota Nation says they very seldom have to replace the fuel filter.
On a 2001 Toyota Sequoia, the fuel pump is located on top of the fuel tank. The fuel pump is powered by the EFI fuse and EFI relay.
