Most hair cements such as Spike It and Got2Be have polymers in them. That is how they make your hair so stiff. Unfortunately, hair cement isn't good for your hair but it will not ruin it to the point of not fixing. I wouldn't advise using a lot for a long period of time. I use it for Halloween hair but other than that I try to stay away from it. Try like a Pravanna Hardening Fiber Paste.

For this you need loads of layers on top and longer, sleeker parts at the bottom. Ok, well you need a comb, gel, and hairspray. For gel I use Concrete Gel by Garnier and for spray I use got2be glued. It's in a yellow can. I take every section of hair and back-comb it (tease it). I start at the back and try to make it as big as possible because it's the whole background to the style. Then SPRAY madly, on top and underneath! Next take the gel and rub it between your fingers, and use it to define your hairstyle and to make it do what you want.
