You didn't mention what year but the headlight switch in any S10 I've ever seen has always been on the far left side of the dash.

I had the same problem. It's the headlight switch. It needs to be replaced. You have to remove the dash for that, which is easy. The switch rins from $107.00 on the internet, to about $140.00 at the Chevy dealer.
The 1966 Chevy Impala ignition switch can be removed by loosening the retaining ring at the top of the ignition switch. Remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new ignition switch.

I want to know how I can tell if my 1994 s10 ss. I have the original window sticker that says "SS" Package $789. Plus the posi-lock 3:42 rear, 4 speed auto, Apple red. Fast as a bullet. If the vehicle vin matches the vin on the window sticker I would say it's good.
