The high latitudes are from 60° N/S to 90° N/S. These are the coldest areas of the World.

Denmark has a high latitude due to its placement on the globe. The placement of Latitude and Longitute were (some argument about this) somewhat arbitrary placemark that could have easily been adjusted a degree or two.
