The intake hose on a pool is typically used during cleaning. It is usually located inside the skimmer area. The drain at the bottom of the pool can also take in water.
Its worn out replace it with another one or a heaver one
On my filter, there are two connections arranged vertically. The top connection is the intake, the bottom the return.
It may not be intaking enough water to fully make it work. Check your intake hose, it may be plugged.

The 1998 Toyota Corolla air intake temperature sensor can be found on the air intake hose. The air intake hose will come from the air intake box and proceed to the engine.
What's under the intake is not a hose, it's a pipe which a hose attaches to behind the intake manifold near the firewall. If the hose is leaking, it's a relatively easy task to replace it. If the pipe is leaking, you will have to remove the intake manifold which is not an easy task (minimum 6 hours to remove and replace the manifold!)
a PVC hose is a hose connected to the back of the intake manifold to the front of the engine

If you have a low spot that you could put the end of a hose, than you could hook a hose to the other end and feed it water to get the flow started. After getting the water running, hold the connected ends under the water in the pool and take them apart. Keep the end from the hose going to the low spot under the water. Have something handy to put on the end in the pool to hold it down to the bottom. If there is no are leaks in the hose and you keep the end under water, it should mostly drain the pool. The discharge end of the hose must be lower than the intake end. When the level of water in the pool falls to the same level as the discharge end, the siphon will stop flowing. To drain a pool completely, the discharge end must be lower than the lowest spot in the pool and the intake end must be place at that spot. To start the siphon you can immerse the hose completely in water to get all the air out, plug the discharge end of the hose with your thumb or a suitable cap as you drag it over the side of the pool, and uncap it when the discharge end is at a low point. This method of starting a siphon avoids sucking or inhaling on the hose end, with the attendant risk of aspirating contaminated water into one's lungs.
submerge the hose in the pool first to get all of the air out, then attach to the skimmer.
The thermostat is on top of your intake manifold, on the front side. Locate the radiator hose that runs to your intake, take the hose off and the thermostat will be sitting on the manifold under the hose.
