We begin in the Gospel of John, chapter 3. Jesus tells us that we must "be born again". How do we do that? If you continue in chapter 3 and verse 16 you will read, "For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son (Jesus), that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life". We have to believe that Jesus is God's Son and that He died on the cross for us (He paid for our Sin) and that He was resurrected. If we believe this with our heart and ask God to save us, and mean it, He will not turn us away, but will give us eternal life. Ask God now to forgive your sin and come into your heart. If you truly believe in Jesus, God will save your soul. You will never be sorry.

Your answer is correct scripturally except where you advise a person to ask God for forgiveness. In The Bible no one ever gets saved by asking to be. The thief on the cross was saved when he BELIEVED on Christ his request was an INDICATION of his faith (Rom 10:14) If you look at the examples given for conversions: The house of Cornelius, the ethiopian eunich, the philipian jailor they were all saved when they BELIEVED the Gospel. Just believing the Gospel saves there is no prayer to pray or asking see Rom 1:16, Rom 4:5, Ephes 1:13 Ephes 2:8-9 In Romans 10: when Paul talks about calling on the name of the Lord and confessing Christ with the mouth he is not saying people do this to be saved, he is saying a calling or confessing Christ is an INDICATION they are ALREADY saved. See Rom 10:14. If you want to lead a person to Christ tell them to believe the Gospel of 1 Cor 15 :1-7 the call is an INDICATION of belief not the salvation experience. Romans 4:5 " But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that Justifieth the ungodly HIS FAITH IS COUNTED FOR RIGHTOUSNESS"

No one in the bible got saved by walking to the front and asking Jesus into their heart-they were saved the very instant they BELIEVED Christ died for their sin and God raised him from the dead 1 COR 15:1-10 What did Paul say to the philipian jailor when he said "Sirs, what must i do to be saved?" Paul did not say : Ask God to forgive you" he did not say "Ask Jesus into your heart" why? Because men don't get saved that way--Paul said BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thine house" and that's ALL HE SAID TO THE MAN. Some folks get saved (Because they believed) then some guy says that's not enough he says they must ASK to be saved-- not according to the Bible read the verses I listed I dare you and you will see that a confession is an INDICATION oF fAITH.

A SINNER CAN ASK TO BE SAVED AND DROP INTO HELL IF HE DOESENT believe the gospel Jesus said " Not all that say unto me Lord Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven " He also said " I am the resurrection and the life, he that BELIEVETH in me though he were dead yet shall he live. OR A SINNER CAN BELIEVE WITHOUT ASKING AND BE SAVED BECAUSE BELIEVING THE GOSPEL IS THE ISSUE NOT ASKING TO BE SAVED. EPHESIANS 1:13 "In whom ye also trusted after ye heard the word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation, in whom also after that ye BELIEVED ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise. Ephes 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through.FAITH! If dingobot would take the time toook at the scriptures given he would see the truth (Hopefully)

Why do mormons consider 'once saved always saved' to be corrupt doctrine when it is supported many times throughout the Bible by the Apostle Paul and others?

Maybe because the Bible is the truth, and Mormonism is a cult.... I'd go with what the Bible says, not what a group of people believe.
