Is a 1080i TV compatible with 1080p cable?

Most modern LCD/Plasma TV's are capable of receiving and displaying 720i, 720p, 1080i and 1080p signals. Therefore your TV, if it can receive 1080i, should be quite happy with a 1080p signal.

Can a 720p TV be used as a 1080p?

All HD televisions are capable of displaying both 1080i and 720p formats. They are both considered to be minimum standards for HD capability. 1080p is a higher data rate than the others and a few older HD models cannot handle the format. Any of the later HD televisions will also accept 1080p. In all cases, the television will convert the incoming signal to a size to suit the native resolution of the television.

How do you finetune your HDTV to 1080p?

You will need a source that outputs at 1080p. Most cable boxes/ satellite boxes do not have the ability to output 1080p (Their native resolution being 1080i/720p) Blu-ray players including the PS3, the Xbox360 along with some other streaming video devices are the only way to get a 1080p signal on your TV. Keep in mind that your content will also have to be capable of 1080p. Some video games are capable, all Blu-rays are as well. A DVD in a Blu-ray player will NOT give you 1080p.

Is your HP w1707 monitor capable of dislaying 720p-1080p PS3 graphics?

yes

Are there HDTV's that can switch between 1080p and 1080i?

If the TV is 1080p capable, it will switch automatically when it receives a 1080p signal. Keep in mind that not all cable and satellite systems will have this service. Look for the INFO button on the remote to see what standard you are receiving.

Does the PS3 support 1080p?

Yes the PS3 supports 1080P when it is connected to a 1080P HDTV with the correct connection cables. The blu-ray disc plays movies at 1080P when played on the PS3 to my HDTV. The PS3 also upscales DVDs to near HD quality with amazing results. In order to fully support 1080p you do need to have a 1080p capable HDTV connected to the PS3 with HDMI or component cables.

Your HDTV does not have HDMI plugs can you play blu ray discs in 1080p?

1080p is possible though component but HDMI is the best way for HD content. It is very unlikely there are HDTVs which do support 1080p but don't have HDMI.

Your tv box shows 1080p but when you put it on it is saying 1080i how can you change that?

HD televisions are capable of displaying a wide range of image resolutions and timings. Most larger HD televisions will accept 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 576i, 480i and each of these in several different field rates. The standard broadcast format for HD is1080i with 720p used to far lesser extent. The television shows "1080i" because that is the signal being received. It will only display "1080p" if it receives a 1080p signal. Currently, broadcasters do not transmit 1080p and have no plans to do so for a number of years from now. When playing standard definition material into the television, it is likely to display 576i, 480i or perhaps show the letters PAL or NTSC to indicate the standard definition signal format.

All camcorder come with cables to connect them to the s-video inputs on a television?

No usually this is something you need to purchase seperate. The S-video will only pass 240p at best not much better than the stock yellow RCA. Preferred hookup is with an HDMI providing the camera is capable. HDMI will pass 720-1080p Read:better picture HD quality at 1080p.

Why is it the when I connect my DVD player to the HDTV my screen goes red I?

I'm not sure why it goes red but the reason it doesn't play is because the DVD player is not capable of giving 1080p (amount of pixels on the screen) to the TV, it can only give 480p. You would need to purchase a blue ray player to make it work. P.s. blue ray players give 1080p :)
