John O'Groats is on the northernmost part of the mainland of Scotland. It is also a bit easterly, and one can catch a ferry nearby, to take you to the northern isles of Orkney or the Shetlands.

It takes about 2 and a half hours to drive from Inverness to John O'Groats.
