The coccygeal vein on a cow runs from the tailhead or the base of the tail through the tail. It can be accessed by needle in order to draw blood right above the tailhead, or underneath the tail.

It is easiest found when the cow has its head folded along its side. The jugular vein is along the muscle line (just bellow the muscle itself).

It is easier to locate the jugular vein if the animal's head is against it's side. This vein is along the dominant muscle in the neck.

A cow's jugular vein runs from it's heart to its brain along the bottom of the neck. The vein is the largest vein in a cow and is approximately 4 feet long.
