Where is location of thermostat on Audi s6 4.2 liter v8 year 2000?

The thermostat is located at the front right of the engine beneath the intake manifold. You have to remove the belts (timing and aux) to get to it. It's one of the biggest jobs you can do on this motor as it is labour intensive. Audi recommend 10hours for this work as if you are removing the belts, you might as well replace them, along with associated rollers and tensioners.... A DIY job for the enthusiantic..... Oh I forgot to mention, you need to remove the front of the car, front bumper, headlamps, radiators and coolers.... ;o)
