You cannot fund Mew in SS or HG. But you can find Mewtwo in the cerulean cave where all the crazy powerful Pokemon live. U actually can get mew but u need the action replay code walk thru walls and a celebi. Go to the Dragons den and walk on the water to the bottom right corner and mew is supposed to appear as a wild pkmn.
