World War 2. After Japan surrendered, North Korea was liberated by the USSR, and South Korea by the US. A few years later the Korean War was fought, and the previous division at the 38th Parallel was reaffirmed.

No. One side is Communist and the other is Democracy,(I think, from what i read about while in school)they do not agree on each other. South Korea and N.Korea hate each other

Korea, both North Korea and South Korea, are a part of Asia.
Korea was splited in 1948; at that time it was split into South Korea and North Korea. Resulting in the korean war to this very day... their technically still against each other.
