That they both deal with frustrated but ultimately successful attempts to get back home is the way in which Homer's "The Odyssey" and "The Wizard of Oz" are similar.Specifically, "The Odyssey" was written during the 8th century B.C.E. by ancient Greek poet Homer. It dealt with the reluctant Trojan War involvement and subsequent, delayed return home of the ancient Greek hero Odysseus. A reluctant involvement in conflicts elsewhere and a homeward bound desire that is frustrated but ultimately realized also come up in the reluctant Ozland adventures of Dorothy Gale until her ultimate return to Kansas in "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by Lyman Frank Baum (May 15, 1856 - May 6, 1919).
Since Judy Garland was a teenager attempting to portray the 9-year-old Dorothy (from Baum's book) she had to have her breasts bound to flatten them, giving her the appearance of being much younger than she actually was. The pony-tails and Gingham dress helped make her look younger in years as well.
Sometimes you can find a Daedric Curiass on some of the daedra in Oblivion. There are a few places in the game that are guarded by daedra. To get the Arrowhead of Extraction on one of the thieves guild quests, you have to go to a wizard's lair, and there are plenty of daedra there. You don't find them very often, but daedra corpses are the best place to look.
The Cowardly Lion thought that he needed courage. But it was clear that he was far from cowardly. All along the Yellow Brick Road, and after, he showed great courage in the original 1900 book edition of The Wizard of Oz. For example, he leaped deep, wide ditches in a single bound, not once, but three times to get his friends Dorothy Gale and her pet dog Toto, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Woodman over an otherwise insurmountable barrier. And in the beloved 1939 film version, he likewise most courageously tackled the scary Castle of the Wicked Witch of the West.
