Country code +1 is North America (US, Canada, etc.). You need the three-digit area code (e.g., +1 601) to be more specific.

  • +1 600 = special Canadian numbers, may not be accessible outside Canada
  • +1 601 = Jackson, MS, USA
  • +1 602 = Phoenix, AZ, USA
  • +1 603 = New Hampshire, USA (entire state)
  • +1 604 = Vancouver, BC, Canada
  • +1 605 = South Dakota, USA (entire state)
  • +1 606 = Ashland, KY, USA
  • +1 607 = Binghamton, NY, USA
  • +1 608 = Madison, WI, USA
  • +1 609 = Trenton/Atlantic City, NJ, USA

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)
