It has what is called coil on plug style ignition sys. Each spark plug has its own individual coil right on top of the plug.

Do you have C.O.P. ( coil on plug ) If so, under the coil.

Remove the coil on top of the plug, then just remove the plug.
According to one of Ford's websites : For a 1988 LTD Crown Victoria , 5.0 liter / 302 cubic inch V8 engine : ( .050 inch spark plug gap )
