The Tamper switches for a fire sprinkler system are located on the main control valves which are located on either side of the backflow preventer for a wet type automatic fire sprinkler system. These switches are wired into the monitoring control system/alarm panel to ensure the valves remain open at all times (or not tampered with.) If the tamper switches are used they will show a supervisory trouble on the panel so the monitoring company or business will know there system is out of service.
