behind the glove box
I have a 2001 Ford Explorer sport trac and the module is located behind the front passengers side panel. I would have to believe that the 2002 Explorer would be the same.
The 2002 Acura airbag control module is located on the firewall in the engine compartment. The airbag control module will be on the drivers side of the firewall.
The 4x4 control module is located behind the kick panel in the passenger side floor board. The module simply unplugs and you plug the new one in.

The powertrain control module (PCM) is visible from the engine compartment on the firewall on the passenger side. The RAP module for your keyless entry should be in the jack storage compartment (at least it is on the 4 door)
One end of the powertrain control module is visible from your engine compartment. It passes through the firewall on your passenger side. The rest of the PCM module is "hidden" under your dash behind your glove compartment.
The airbag control module in a 2002 Saturn SC2Êis located underneath the center console. It is the yellow connector behind the shifter.
According to my Haynes repair manual 2001 and later models have a separate control module just for the 4X4 system that is located behind the right front passenger kick panel.
