According to the New Catholic Encylopedia (1967) there is no reference to the assumption in The Bible. Rather the Bible states at 1 Corinthians 15:50, "However, this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God's kingdom, neither does corruption inherit incorruption"

The Assumption of Mary began to take shape in the 4th century as some wanted to elevate her beyond what was actually portrayed in the scriptures. Many of the stories were contradictory and without authority. As to becoming actual dogma of the Catholic church, this did not occur until just 1950.

Is there any reference given in bible about Mary's assumption?

No. The assumption of Mary is a story made up by leaders of the Catholic church. Mary was a normal person like you and me and died like you and I will.

What Bible verses can you find the Assumption?

If you are speaking of the 'Assumption of Mary,' aka 'The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven' is not supported by Scripture. It is a dogma of the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches (and parts of or others as well). This was defined on November 1, 1950 by Pope Pius XII.

This might not be the answer you are looking for Mary is the "Lady" Answer 2The Catholics are taught that Mary the mother of Jesus Christ was assumed to heaven. So the "Lady of Assumption" refers to Mary in Catholicism. But the Bible does not mention any woman being assumed to heaven. Nor does the Bible tell us that Mary was assumed to heaven. It'll take a lot of gumption to espouse that assumption. That's your assumption. That is not an assumption.

Where in the Bible is the Virgin Mary's ascension noted?

Roman Catholic AnswerNowhere, Mary did not "ascend" into heaven, she was assumed. Ascension is what Our Blessed Lord did, under His own power. Our Blessed Lady is NOT divine, but a created human being. Her assumption is not in the Bible, the Church does not rely on the Scriptures for belief in Mary's Assumption. The doctrine is rather part of the Oral Tradition, handed down over the centuries (Note: the Bible itself is from the Oral Tradition as well!) It was solemnly defined by Pope Pius XII in 1950.

What Scriptures did the Catholic Church change in the Bible?

Roman Catholic AnswerYou are operating with a mistaken assumption. The Catholic Church wrote the Bible, the Catholic Church decided which books were canonical (included in the Bible), and the Catholic Church has conserved the Bible through the centuries. The only ones who changed any Scriptures in the Bible are the protestants, who, after fifteen centuries of a Bible preserved by the Catholic Church came along and threw books out of the Bible, and changed the meanings of books they would not throw out.

Did Mary's donkey have a saddle?

The Bible does not say; it also does not say she rode a donkey. The assumption that she may have is based on common methods of transport at the time and the fact that she was heavily pregnant.

Why there will be no place in Heaven for bad tempered folk?

Well, you have made an assumption here that can't be demonstrated; nowhere in the Bible does it say that "bad tempered," per se, is excluded.
