The Battlenet Authenticator is a hardware/iphone app that generates a code every 30 seconds. Even if someone gave you a code, it would be invalid by the time you input it.

What is a blizzard authenticator?
The Blizzard authenticator is a device (key-chain) or app (for some mobile phones) that you can have attached to your BattleNet account. It adds an additional layer of security to your account. With it attached to your account, when ever you log into BattleNet or one of its games, you must put in the six digit code that appears on the device or app. This code is cycled every thirty (30) seconds and is never the same code twice. Basically it makes it very hard for hackers/key-loggers to get your account information and take your account from you.
What do i do if i didn't download a battlenet authenticator and i have to put in an authentication code?
This depends whether someone with a WoW account that does have an authenticator attached has logged into your game. If so, simply log in normally but leave the authenticator field empty. It will then log in normally. If not, or the above does not help, contact Blizzard customer support. There is a chance someone got hold of your account details, added the game to their account and/or attached an authenticator. When this happens, you can no longer log in to the game or your account.
I think accidentally put an authenticator on my account and i can't log in wout it i went to battlenet entered pass got free app and i supposed to say add but doesn't say add it says authenticator?
in the first place you can NOT accidentally add an authenticator, you have to purposefully add it. This means that you probalby got hacked sometime and the hacker put an authenticator on it so he would have more time to do his thing. Call Blizzard Billing. They are the only ones that can help you.
