In the 1983 Lincoln Mark VI, the headlamp switch is typically located on the dashboard, to the left of the steering wheel. It is usually integrated into the instrument panel, near the climate control and other accessory switches. Look for a round or rectangular knob that you can pull or twist to activate the headlights.
Pull the dash trip off gently from bottom to top, (just the dash trim by the climate control) and there will be 4 screws on the climate control module. Its best to buy a used 1996-1999 Mark VIII Climate Control module, since they have "Hard Buttons" on the climate controls. Pull out the old one, and replace with the new model. Newer model climate control modules are totally compatible w/the 1993-1996 models.
Could be a short or the climate control unit is about to be toast.
The speed control recall on a 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII is typically addressed by checking the speed control switch, which is located on the steering column. If a recall has been issued, it often involves inspecting or replacing the cruise control deactivation switch, which can also be found near the brake pedal. It's best to consult the vehicle's service manual or a certified Lincoln dealer for specific recall information and any necessary service.
