On the 1992 2.3 it was located between the valve cover and the firewall directly to the back of the motor. It can't be missed. On the left side of that EGR valve there is a sizable pipe coming out the side of it running down to the exhaust pipe above the front of the transmission. If removing it you will need a fairly large wrench to loosen the large compression fitting that holds the feed pipe to the EGR. Soak it with penetrating oil if it doesn't come loose. This part of the vehicle has actual coarse pipe threads and Plumbing fittings on it which tend to be rusty.
