The IAT sensor is located inside the naff sensor housing, it reads air mass volume and air temperature as one unit.
There are two other air temp sensors that do not control engine parameters. One is located under the front bumper; it reads outside air temps and reports it to the driver. The other air temp senor is located inside the HVAC system A/C & Heater control unit; that sensor is used for climate control and helps regulate the air tempurature in the car to whatever it is set to
The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor on a 1997 Volvo 850 GLT is located in the intake manifold, typically near the air intake hose or the throttle body. It is usually mounted directly in the manifold or in a connector on the air intake duct. To access it, you may need to remove the air intake hose or cover to reach the sensor.
The 850 does not use a MAP sensor. It uses a MAF sensor that is located and attached to the air filter housing lid
