On a 1994 Ford E350 with a 7.5L engine, the ignition control module is typically located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, mounted on the distributor or nearby on the firewall. It is usually a small rectangular box with electrical connectors attached. To access it easily, you may need to remove any obstacles around the engine area. Always ensure the vehicle is turned off and disconnected from the battery before attempting to handle or replace the module.
1994 was the last year the Ranger used an ignition control module on the 2.3 and 2.5. The ignition control module was attached to the lower intake manifold.
The ignition module and coil are contained inside the distributor and are not serviced as separate parts.
Most likely it is the Ignition Control Module.
Have you checked for fuel and spark? Fuel pumps ad burnt ignition rotors are very commen on these vehicles
The only way I can explain it is to follow the wiring from your coil pack (where the spark plugs are) and the wires plug into the ignition module. Also go go www.wrenchead.ca and it has a manual that explains all. if you don't know the answer to a question please keep your moth shut ,please don't waste my time
P041 is "No Cam Reference Signal from the Ignition Control Module"
Inside the distributor cap under the rotor
no cam ref signalfrom ignition control module
Engine computer, pass side fire wall.
The engine computer (behind the battery) is the ignition module.
It is bolted inside the distributor under the rotor on bass plate
Remove the distributor cap and it will be bolted inside the distributor on the base plate.
