PCV Valve locations:
INSTALL: Simply pull on the hose to release the valve from the valve cover - pull the valve out of the hose. Insert new valve and push back into valve cover.
NOTES:
it should be on the valve pan cover with a hose running to air filter duct or MAF(mass air flow) the PCV recycles the blowback exhaust back into the engine .
The PVC valve is on the rear valve cover closer to the driver side of the car. It's easier to see and get to if you pull off the air cleaner housing which is a hassle but once you get it out of the way, you can get to the PVC valve easier. The problem is getting enough leverage to pull it loose from the connector which has a rigid pipe leading to it. It's a snug fit and you have to be able to get a good grip to pull the old one out of the hose. It's fairly easy to pull it loose from the valve cover.
Remove the PCV valve retaining screws. Remove the PCV valve hose. Reverse the process to install the new PCV valve.
Disconnect the PCV valve tube from the PCV valve.Disconnect the PCV valve electrical connector if it has one.Turn the PCV valve counterclockwise to remove from the valve cover. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Pull straight up on the PCV valve to remove it from the valve cover, then pull off the hose from the PCV valve, install the new one by doing the opposite of removal.
Remove the vacuum hose from your 1995 Lincoln Town Car PCV valve. Remove the retaining screws from the valve. Reverse the process to install the new PCV valve.
Remove the vacuum hose from your 1989 Oldsmobile 3.8 liter engine PCV valve. Remove the retaining bolts from the valve. Reverse the process to install the new PCV valve.
you have to take the plenum off first
It's a fairly straight forward procedure. The PCV valve mounts in the valley pan. Run the hose from the PCV valve to the large vacuum port at the bottom of the carb. That's it.
No tools required pull valve from valve cover, pull valve from vacuum line, install new valve.
The PCV valve is located on the passenger side valve cover. It cost about $3.00 to replace. Simply pull up on the vacuum line and the PCV will more than likely pull out of the gromlet. It may take a little effort, but pull the PCV valve from the line and install a the new one.
PCV valve is located in the valve cover. start engine, allow to idle. disconnect pcv valve from valve cover and feel for vaccum. If you feel vaccum good, if not trouble shoot system. Pcv valve dirty, hose clogged or cracked, etc. check the rubber grommet in valve cover for deteriation, replace if necessary. if the old pcv valve is clogged the the hose may be as well, clean w/ solvent. install new valve and reconnect.
Pull upward on the hose that the PCV valve is in. The PCV valve will pull out of the hose. The PCV valve is located in the valve cover.
On the passenger side valve cover, under the engine intake. A tube connects the PCV valve to a port on the upper intake plenum which sits on top the engine.
