I have one with no serial number that I got for Christmas in 1964
1960's-1970's. If it has a serial number it is post-1968. sales@countrygunsmith.net
Not enough information to answer, however, Springfield is a brand used by Savage Arms. Contact their Customer Service Dept.
I just paid 75 for a 80% Savage.
The Springfield line was sold by Stevens/Savage from about 1920 until the 1940's. If you need a closer estimate of the age, you can get the Stevens Historian's address from savagearms.com and send him $15 and the serial number.
The location for a Savage 410 Model 940C shotgun serial number is on the bottom of the gun butt. Make sure you Flip the safety lever to the on position to prevent accidents.
