You don't mention the year or engine size but the 5.0 liter V8 has ( 1 ) timing CHAIN , the 4.0 liter SOHC - V6 has (3) timing CHAINS and the 4.6 liter V8 uses a timing CHAIN (s)
The 3.0 liter is not as interchangeable as the 4.0 liter. The 4.0 liter is interchangeable with the a4ld from the bronco 2 2.8 and 2.9's. The 4r55e and 5r55e's also all interchange with minor wiring differences.
