The air/fuel mixture screw is located on the right side (as if you were sitting on the bike) of the carb. It is also hidden behind a brass plug as it is preset at the factory for emission purposes. This brass plug may be painted white for easy location. If not, it will have a small hole in it. To gain access to this adjustment screw, you will need to drill the hole alittle bigger and use a sheet metal screw and a slide hammer to remove the plug BE CAREFUL NOT TO DRILL TOO FAR IN!! Now, with that said, I have encountered a few that just will not come out. I carefully drill the plug until the walls of the plug are thin enough to bend and hopefully break. If you're not looking to remove the screw, just drilling it so that a small screwdriver will fit through the newly drilled hole will work. Once you gain access to the adjustment screw, turn it in clockwise until it stops. DO NOT TIGHTEN IT!! Once it's lightly seated, pay attention to where the slot of the screw is facing and turn it counter clockwise 2 and 1/2 turns. You may have to go alittle farther to achieve the maximum idle speed which is fine. I've encountered carbs that are happy from 2 1/2 turns all the way to 4 turns out. I hope this helps. Good Luck.
under the carb just ahead of the throttle plate..... 2.5 turns out from lightly seated

As a starting point, 2. That's with a 32:1 fuel mixture at 0-1500 ft at 70 degrees. Put it at 2 and play with it from there.

Try 1.5 turns out on the mixture screw for an initial setting.
Turn the fuel screw all the way in, the turn it out two and a half turns. Turn the pilot air screw half a turn in to enrich the fuel mixture and keep it from stalling at low speeds if needed. If the fuel mixture is too lean then turn the fuel screw out a little, like a half turn.
