In a 1997 Volvo 850, the fuel pump relay is located in the engine compartment, specifically in the relay/fuse box. This box is situated near the driver's side of the engine bay. To access the relay, you may need to remove the cover of the relay box and look for the relay labeled for the fuel pump. Always refer to the vehicle's manual for precise identification and location.
