Recently got a 1984 Porsche 928S Automatic When I turn the key the car doesn't start I hear the starter relay click but nothing else is there a way to get it started by bypassing the starter?
If the car is a manual transmission, you can push start it. Turn on the ignition, put the car in neutral, and have someone push you to about 5 mph. Shift the car into 2nd gear and pop the clutch. This should get the car going to the nearest auto parts store where you can get a new battery. Since it isn't mauel try looking at the fuses located in the floor of the passenger side, one maybe old or just maybe loose, its worth a try that's what was wrong with mine. and it's automatic
Anyone have any info on dropping a Chevy 350 V8 into a 1991 Mercedes Benz 500SL roadster?
Check out "Renegade Hybrids" in Las Vegas. They sell adapter kits and also do custom installations of small block 350 Chevys into all models of Porsches... 911s, 914s, 944s, and 928s. I don't know if they make a kit for swapping a 350 into a 500SL Mercedes, but they are the experts on putting American V8s into German coachwork. Call 'em up. They might know someone who does the conversion. I have a 450 SL that I put a Chevy engine into. There is no kit that I know of. I made all the parts to make it fit with all G.M. parts and a Chevy trany. It's not a job for just anyone. The car drives and runs like it should,but with a lot more power and better fuel mileage. If anyone wants I can give Pics of the work done and help with advise.
