Under the glove box between the firewall and the blower motor
In a 1988 Chevy 2500, the blower motor resistor can be found on the passenger side. It usually is behind the glove box.
Behind the glove compartment on the dash.
Under the hood on top of the HVAC box.
A bad blower motor may have burned out the blower motor resistor and the high speed relay. I would suggest replacing the motor, resistor and relay.
The blower motor resister block is located in the center of the dash. Remove the complete glovebox and look to the left and you will see it...............
Check at the blower motor itself. Have it turned on and tap the end of the blower motor with a hammer. I did this and found out that the blower motor was going out. The blower motor is on the top passenger side under the hood. Also check the wire connections. Make sure they are seated good. If this includes for the heater then I would say the blower motor is bad.
you have waisted my time, thank you
on the firewall theres a big black box its inside of it
try replacing the blower motor resistor. I had the same problem and that was the fix. Right under the black sheild under the dash on the passenger side. 10 min fix.
It's not hard, it's very easy.
It is under the dash on the passenger side of the car. You can access it without removing any other objects.
On my 1989 you first remove the engine coolant reservoir as the blower motor is right behind it. Disconnect the two wires, remove about 10-12 screws around the motor. Then twist, turn, and wiggle the motor out. It's a pretty tight fit so it won't be the easiest thing to get out.
