The brain or ecm is located on passenger side, underneath glove box. Remove a few 6mm screws and there it is behind plastic cover.

Please ask this question again specifying the year of cavalier and the engine. Also, are there words that seem to make it stutter more than other words? Do you have one of these engines? 2.8L 2.5L 2.2L OHV 2.2L Ecotec 2.2L Quad4 SOHC 2.4L Quad4 DOHC Have you had a tune-up lately?

The Quad 4 is a special engine and to do it correctly and not good it up, get s manual on your car fron the parts store for about $18 . It will help you on the next job.
Depends on the size motor you have.if its a quad4 its located under the plate that covers your plugs. If its anouther engine then just follow your plug wires and it will be at the other end of them.
Got 4
If it's the 3.1L motor, it's just below and to the right of the power steering pump. If it's a 2.4L QUAD4, it's on the backside of motor just underneath the exhaust manifold, very dumb location.
The heater core is behind the center unit (behind the stereo, ac, etc.) hovering above the floorboard between the passenger and driver side. Take off the black heat shield. Open your hood. In the back of the engine cavity (the engine side of the heater core). You will see two identical pipes/stems coming out. Remove any hoses, etc. from the two pipes/stems. Now, it should just be a matter of wriggling the core loose from the inside. If you can't pull it from the inside, try pushing from under the hood.
It's on top of the engine. It's a big gray flat thing about the size of a loaf of Wonder bread (but much flatter) that leaks out from it's gasket after a few years. This is assuming you have the good (and common) 2.2L pushrod engine. If you have a Quad4 (designed for racing) engine, you have a cam cover which you don't need to worry about until the head needs to be replaced.
There should be a housing that a radiator hose is hooked to. The housing bolts up to the engine block just under the throttle body(the thing the air intake hose hooks up to). The thermostat is behind the housing. This is true for a 3100 buick engine. But in all cases that I know of it will be close to the end of a radiator hose. Hope this helps.
If you have the Quad4 engine it also has a blow by tube in the dipstick tube, shortly above where it goes into the block. You would have to remove the hose from it, and twist the tube approx. 90 degrees in two directions to get out.
