The brake light switch is threaded into the master cylinder. Open the hood, look at the brake master cylinder, notice the brake light switch with wires connected. Have new one ready to install when you remove the old one to keep loss of brake fluid to a minimum.
Pull out type: On the side of the switch (behind dash) is a silver button Depress this button and pull know all the way out of switch Then unscrew bezel and remove switch from rear Ford suggests replacing connector also
It is in the fuse box which is bolted to the headlight switch. You need to remove the headlight switch ti access it.

At the end of the master cylinder. Probably the easiest way to gain accesss would be to remove the gas tank.

could be that the emergency brake cable is stretched and the pedal has fallen down a bit.try lifting up on your emerg brake pedal
